Nutri Scanner was developed to simplify everyday nutritional choices by transforming complex, often unreadable food labels into a clear, digital, and user-friendly format. Whether you are at the grocery store or planning your meals at home, the app provides instant access to essential nutrition data standardized per 100g of the product.
Key Features:
- Instant Scan: Identify products quickly using your device's camera or by uploading a barcode image.
- Smart Search & Filters: Find products based on specific criteria like high protein, low sugar, or dietary needs such as Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Lactose-Free.
- Health Indicators: Visual representation of Nutri-Score, NOVA, and Eco-Score to help you understand the nutritional quality and environmental impact of your food.
All product data is retrieved through the Open Food Facts API, a global open database. Since ingredients and nutrition values can vary by region or brand, anyone with allergies or specific medical conditions should always verify the information on the original product packaging.
About the Creator
Nutri Scanner is a project by Jelena Nikčević, a BI Engineer and Electrical Engineering graduate, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Donja Gorica.
This application is the result of a passion for clean design and the practical application of modern technologies like Python and Flask to solve the everyday struggle of reading microscopic food labels.
